If I limited my gin drinking to only two nights a week my Mr. would have to lock me in a cellar. Is that your favourite Bourbon?
Sulky: Elijah Craig is m favourite but trying to find it round here is almost impossible. Oh come December 12th, my festive every night drinking will begin, remember I live with Mr Teetotal, its like living with a Dickensian preacher!
Tabs, what is your secret...how do you stay looking so scintillant and svelt, and partake of the demon drink? It's not the power of Lancome, or should I say L'Oreal. Or is it an Apple a day that keeps the doctor away. Are you really H. Rider Haggard's inspiration, Hiya?
Curator: I saw the film version of that as a little girl and was mesmerised, then I read the book, I only hit the bottle two nights a week and the gym 4 times so I just tip the balance!
Ursula was so stunning, and the costumes were wonderful. I think we'd all like to be Ayesha. You're right, it's all about balance.
Yes Curator - balance is everything! That's why I often find myself delicately perched on my 6 inch claws with a cocktail in each paw! Where've you been stranger?
Cheers Sulky, I thought I must be doing something wrong when I kept spilling my glass of Gosset down my running tights. Will now use two glasses, one for each hand.On the run 24/7. Keep spilling my drinks!Work keeping me out of the cocktail lounge : (Love Demi's Diary by the way. Especially her mew-sings on Shazza's toddler.
Another Surecare gel here, that shows how boring/housewifeeee I am! Ida
Ida but it's great isn't it? I can't bear scented washing up liquid, I can smell/taste it on everything.
'Mild green Fairy Liquid' just doesn't go with Margaux.
Love some tabasco sauce :))) Yes yes, the more, the merrier x
Hello Tabitha:Yes, the brands fit you perfectly in our minds eyes.........but....... the Beverly Hills Bungalows do not seem quite your thing.....Gritti Palace clothes hangers?!!!!
The Beverly Hills Hotel is my mother's milk on which I would annually suckle give the chance.
I presume the Tabasco is for your breakfast Bloody Mary.
C: shhhhh, don't tell preacher husband.
You crack me up!
Hahahahahha......Totally not what I was expecting. You're a hoot, Tabitha!
ON TARGET Have your read "No Logo" by Naomi Klein? Closest a Canadian has gotten to manifesto in past decade. Given the Friday night Preacher Husband, all the more reason to indulge in Dickensian levels of festive drink. Bring on Scrooge's Smoking Bishop, wassail with brandy (sure we could make bourbon work), even the idea of milk punch and possets.
BTW, I think you missed one - Mickey's Mark?
Get Fresh: Mickey's Mark, once agin I was I had your headline ability, that's brilliant.Milk punch and posset - I'm on it.
isn't it wonderful how some brands we use each day are so beautiful! i love all your brands. just seeing the starbucks brand makes me want a coffee and i'm a long time tabasco fan too. stay warm!
Having just purchased two tins of Fortnum and Mason's tea that's what I've seen this morning. You've got quite the assortment of logo's in your abode...I must scrape around and see what we have here.Enjoy your week Tabitha!
This makes me wonder how many brands I come across during my day. Definitely thought provoking post!
Hello! I just came across your blog, and I love it! I’ve decided to follow you! If you get a minute, I’d love to know what you think of my latest outfit post! While you’re visiting, follow along so we can keep in touch! :)xo, elle from Living in Color.
I'm with you on the Starbucks and Fage already. Mine would include Fresh skin care, Colgate and Subaru as I've driven to school and then to the market-Whole Foods yet again.
Oh yes No Logo is a fantastic book, everyone should read it.
I agree! I also highly recommend Deluxe: How Luxury Lost Its Luster by Dana Thomas, which is about branding becoming a luxury commodity, and therefore leads to the cheapening of the luxury items themselves. Quite thought provoking. Now, my question is: What do you do with Tracy Anderson? I sometimes do her mat workout DVD but it just isn't that fun, really. Am curious if you have a routine that you actually find palatable?
Candace, I read that years ago when it first came out, another great read. I do the ab section of the DVD most days, oh and almost always step on my specs when I get up off the floor!
looking for a pattern here Tabs....but as usual you have popped in some from left field just to keep everybody on their toes!! xx
I'm afraid my brands consist of high glamour labels like Kleenex, Sudocrem and Pineocleen.
this is a great compilation - it is funny how you don't notice them on a daily basis, but the logos are quite artistic and pretty to look at! xox Pphiphi's blog
Too funny!I am surprised you don't have a Starbucks tattoo!
WMM, LOL! If Tabs did have a 'bucks vs. a rocker tat, it would have to be one of the original 1970s' versions of the mermaid - very CA in their way.
One of the best logos ever.
Fabulous Tabs. Bourbon Whiskey? Can't imagine it somehow ;-)Beverley Hills Hotel? Can imagine it PERFECTLY!!!xx
Yep I loathe our whisky, even the smell is horrendous.
Gotta love brands, huh? This is an awesome round-up...i should try this myself. I bet the results would surprise me!
Starbucks??? I can't believe you drink it! They have actually had to close stores in Australia because the locals wouldn't take to their pale imitation of what a real coffee should taste like. We are coffee snobs in Oz. Can you imagine how the world would have looked 150 years ago with very little branding and advertising. The visual noise is everywhere now.....
I buy their expresso roast for my cafetiere and slake it in double cream at home every morning. Two giant mug fulls, on number two now.
Actually saw another Satrbucks in Sydney CBD the other day ..that makes what ? 2
I tried to drink Starbucks only once but after taking a few sips I left it on the table and stalked out of the cafe in disgust. The worst coffee ever!
Tabitha- I am just tuning back in after a week without power(and heat!). What a great post. I love the way you think. I find all of the branding jarring, and especially notice it on my boys clothing. I don't know what looks worse- when they are head to toe in Nike, or when they are wearing a melange of assorted logos. There is no escaping it with sportswear.
Oh that must have been a long week, how did the boys cope with it all? All back to normal now?
Yikes, lost power again for 2 days- and then it snowed on top of it! The boys were fine; they loved being out of school for 5 days, so we visited a relative who had power. Ipods and Kindles are a miracle, especially with a car charger!Back to normal, but I am not in shopping or blog mode yet, particularly with so many unfinished work deadlines.BTW, I recall your comments about the Beverly Hills hotel. Have you ever been to the Biltmore in Asheville, NC, or the Hotel Del Coronado in California? Lovely and historic.
I use the tabasco sauce in my remoulade for my shrimp po'boys. Good choice to start off a post. Yum. ;) Made the po'boys last night, again. Monday nights are Mr. Dina's favorites.I love that you have Maker's Mark. LOL. You, a beautiful Scottish lady. Don't let it out that you love a tipple of the American stuff. Ha.
Ah well, we gave you bourbon!
Do you go to a Tracy Anderson class or do it at home? I once tried to do a short one off my computer . It was hilarious because I needed my glasses on to see the small screen and ended up tripping on the coffee table in three short minutes.
Marsha, I do the abs at home and do all my other stuff at the gym.
Whaddaya know we have no brands in common and I boycott Starbuck's whenever possible.
I don't recognise most of these brands, I must admit. However, I shall enjoy looking them up and learning something new. Maybelline mascara is the only product I can think of that I've been particularly faithful to. I'd ditch this as well if it weren't consistently such good value. Almost every other brand name has drifted in and out of my life.
I used to always put Tabasco in my popcorn oil! Apple and Mickey's Mark dominate my day (and Kleenex, as someone mentioned above, 'tis the season...). I am very brand loyal but I don't like my logos showing on my clothes.
Yes yes yes to Starbucks!! xo
That Lululemon logo is briliant. It's become so recognizable, without giving much away, in such a short period of time. The Starbucks logo is so beautiful, although not a fan of their coffee.
This made me think of how my days look in brands and logos. Loved this!Ada
I am addicted to Starbucks too - not the coffee, the iced tea lemonades! And I love Fortnum & Mason jams but I have to wait until the holidays when some of the stores around Toronto start carrying the line.
My favourite is the 'no name' one. Not sure you have seen it. Of course it's trademarked.
haha...yes, i got to that last one and yes...i was wondering. A day in the life of Logos. You are always so clever!!xoannie
